Andros - Day 6

Today was another great day! We decided to revisit our two favorite dive sites from the trip as a fitting finish, since this will be our last day of diving.

Our original plan had us leaving on Wednesday morning with the 7:30a flight back to Nassau. This would have left us with a long layover until our 2:45p USAir flight, but it wasn't quite enough time to really kick around Nassau, and we would have had to lug our carry-on the whole time. So, we decided to alter our plans. Lucia booked us on the 4:30p flight out tomorrow, and we will stay on Paradise Island in Nassau for the night. This will give us plenty of time to see the Atlantis Aquarium on Wednesday morning before our flight. We had to bag a day of diving, but this seemed like the best opportunity to see the place, as I doubt we would ever "plan" a trip there.

So, we headed out this morning on completely FLAT waters to enjoy our final dives for this trip. Mark had a guide (Wellie, short for Wellington, I believe) from the Bonefishing lodge next door join us to assist with the boat duties. We dove on our own again, and decided we really like being able to do our own thing at our own pace. Kara continued to spot some great creatures, such as a 5' Reef Shark cruising through our dive site!

We have been experiencing some technical difficulties with the camera since the start of the trip, and it finally gave out during the last 5 minutes of the final dive of the trip. All things considered, it wasn't a terrible time for it to happen. Surprisingly, after a couple hours and numerous attempts, it started working again this evening. Oh, did I mention that was after I hit it twice with some authority? Sometimes you just need a bigger hammer...

Anyway, hopefully it will hang on and we can add some photos of the facility and perhaps Nassau. We'll see. The only thing in my future I see for certain is a new camera ;-)

MEALS:
Eggs and toast for breakfast, cheeseburgers and fries after diving (courtesy of Daisy), and spicy black bean soup followed by lobster in a cream sauce over pasta for dinner!

WEATHER:
Monday morning was pristine; the water was completely flat. However, by 1:00pm a storm pushed in that darkened the sky and brought a solid breeze and rain off and on for most of the afternoon.
